ORA's trope guides rank works by documented fit with the guide's stated trope and format. For these guides, "best" means strongest fit for the trope rather than sales, popularity, or a claim of universal literary quality.
We assess how central the trope is to the story, how strongly it affects the plot and central relationship, how consistently it appears, the work's relevance to romantasy, and how clearly it delivers the expected trope experience. Evidence must meet the same threshold for ORA and non-ORA titles.
A fixed rubric determines order. Ownership, payment, availability on ORA, and link destination are not scoring factors. ORA does not sell inclusion or placement. A title's position is a result of its score, not a position we assign.
This guide format is published only when the completed, ownership-independent ranking contains exactly one title with an ORA commercial relationship and at least four unaffiliated titles. ORA does not insert or reposition a title to achieve that composition. The relationship is disclosed on each affected guide.
Each recommendation links under the same destination policy, normally to an official title page. These links are non-affiliate unless the page explicitly states otherwise.
ORA records the evidence used for each recommendation, corrects material errors, and re-reviews guides when relevant title information changes. We do not present reader reviews we have not genuinely collected. To report an error, contact the ORA editorial team.
